STRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT OF POLY(TRIMETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE) DURING THE HEATING PROCESS
Thermal behavior is one of the long-standing problems for semicrystalline polymers. Poly (trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) as a member of engineering thermoplastic aromatic polyesters indicates a distinct multiple melting behavior and has been attracting much more attention owing to the excellent resilience and processing characteristics compared to poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) in recent decades. Up to now, it has been appointed that the multiple melting behavior of PTT results from the pre-existed crystallites with different stability lamella and the melting-recrystallization-remelting. However, there still exists controversy in assignments of each individual peak.
