NOVEL PCBM CRYSTALS GROWN BY DIFFUSION LIMITED EPITAXIAL CRYSTALLIZATION (DLEC) ON MICA (001) WITHIN POLYMER MATRIX

Morphology control over polymer:PCBM blend films is one of the most effective strategies to improve the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of bulk heterojunction (BHJ) polymer solar cells. It has been pointed out that PCBM can form nanocrystals uniformly distributed in polymenPCBM blend films,1 and both the molecular packing and the shape of these PCBM crystals play an important role in the electron transporting process,2 therefore, further insights into the nanostructures of PCBM crystals and novel methods for controlling PCBM crystallization in blend films are desirable for further improving the PCE of polymer solar cells.
