THEORETICAL STUDY ON THE RHEOLOGY OF DENDRIMERS

Dendrimers form a new class of polymeric material with promising applications in a wide range of areas: specialty fluids, biomedical materials, nano-materiaL drug-delivery, genetic engineering, etc.13 The richness of their properties has been the subject of extensive theoretical, 4-6 experimental 7, 8 and simulation studies.9,l0 Rheological behavior is one of the most important properties that characterize polymer. Some applications of dendrimers strongly depend on their rheological behavior.1 However, till now there are no theory that can quantitatively describe different rheological behavior of dendrimers, like diffusion and intrinsic viscosity and so on. Here, we apply two-zone model to describe the dendrimers with tri-functional junctions by means of appropriate choices of excluded volume parameters based on Flory theory. We theoretically investigated the relationship between diffusion coefficient (D) and the number of generation (G) and the relationship
