Feasibility Analysis of using modulated laser to test the velocity of moving objects

Scattered laser light from a flying object is applied widely in the science and industry field. In military domain the detection and recognition of moving object can be achieved by measuring the scattered laser light from object. A new active detection method with noncooperative target, featuring a high frequency modulation laser, is put forward to detect the scattered laser from the high speed object The optical path is imitated by non-sequential components of ZEMAX, providing the optimal design of lens parameters and the layout of system. The theoretical analysis of S/N of system in the case of small object size with large laser beam is performed. The simulation and theoretical analysis show the feasibility analysis of using modulated laser to test the velocity of moving objects.
