Microscopic Dynamic Simulation Model for Pedestrian-Vehicle Mixed Traffic
The current urban transportations are mostly mixed traffic, consisting of three kinds of microscopic traffic objects: motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles and pedestrian traffic. In this paper, based on the analysis of traffic characteristics of the above objects, we construct the simulation model for motor vehicles and the cellular automata-based simulation model for pedestrian, and propose vehicle collision avoidance strategies and pedestrian avoidance strategies. This modeling method takes the similarity between models and the real world as the criterion, and effectively overcomes the problems which the accurate mathematical model encountered in mixed traffic simulation. The simulation results shows that, this method effectively simulates some characteristics of mixed traffic, and has broad application prospects in urban traffic planning, traffic demand management, traffic control and other such areas.
