A New Half-overlap Filtered Multitone Modulation Based On CIC Filter in The Context of Cognitive Radio

In this paper, an analysis of multicarrier (MC) communication technique in the context of Cognitive Radio is realized. The features of alternative modulation based on filter bank -non-overlap and Half-overlap subchannel Filtered MultiTone (FMT) will be mentioned. However, half-overlap FMT system proposed in 6 introduces intercarrier interference (ICI) due to the loss of orthogonality which may reduce system performance. In order to keep subcarriers orthogonal and thereby eliminate ICI, an improved Half-overlap FMT system with orthogonal subcarriers based on cascaded integrator-comb (CIC) filter will be proposed and a comparison will be conducted. Both the simulation and measure results show that the proposed modulation technique is a good candidate for Cognitive Radio.
