The influence of spinning solution properties on the coagulation process of polysulfonamide (PSA) fiber

The influence of coagulation variables on diffusion during polysulfonamide wet spinning was investigated by measuring the remained weight of samples. The transverse structure of coagulated samples was also studied. It is found that coagulating of polysulfonamide was speeded up with increasing of relative viscosity of polymer solution while the change of transverse structure of the coagulated samples can be neglected. The coagulation speed is slowed down with enhancing of polymer concentration from 11% to 12.5%, when the polymer concentration is more than 12.5%, the coagulation speed increases with enhancing of polymer concentration, transverse structure of coagulated samples becomes compact, and the hole in the rivulet decreases.
