The effects of process conditions on the dye uptake of PET yarn dyed in a pilot-scale supercritical CO2 dyeing plant
As an alternative to traditional dyeing of polymer, supercritical CO2 dyeing process for PET yarn packages was investigated at the pilot plant stage to develop a commercial dyeing technique. By utilizing this pilot plant, the effects of process conditions on the dye uptake in PET yarn packages dyed with C.I. Disperse Red 60 were studied. was found that the maximum dye uptake was obtained under the conditions of 1100kg/h, 120 ℃, 25Mpa. And the percent exhaustion was higher than those found in literatures at similar dye/yarn ratio in similar scale pilot plant.
