Investigation on the molecular orientation behaviour of MJLCP fiber
The orientation varieties of the original Mesogen-Jacketed Liquid Crystal Polymer (MJLCP) fiber and its drawn fibers were investigated by two-dimensional X-ray diffraction. Fiber orientation percent (F), the average orientation angle -θ , the draw direction vector nz optimizated with the draw ratio increasing. During the applied load drawing, the segment orientation will be occurred firstly, and then the coordination movement of the flexible main chain and mesogenic element drive the orientation of the molecular chain and self-assembly unit. Further orientation of the molecular chain and self-assembly unit was completed by the conformation change through covalent bands rotation of the flexible main chain. The extended conformation can not come back the equilibrium conformation quickly, the flow deformation occurs at the same time.
