Study on salicylic acid rare earth complex/ polyurethane materials

Rare earth complex/polyurethane materials were prepared from salicylic acid rare earth complex, isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI), PEG600, and β -hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA) in the presence of dibutytin dilaurate(DBTL) as catalyst and 2,2-azo-bis-iso-butyro-nitrile(AIBN) as initiator. The properties of the materials were measured by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), fluorescence and optical properties testing. The effect of content of rare earth complex on the final properties was evaluated. The results show that the rare earth complex/polyurethane materials present good fluorescent, thermal and mechanical properties. The composite materials are expected for the field of luminescent materials.
