Structure and tensile properties of the pre-drawn acrylic fiber during second-stage drawing process

The pre-drawn acrylic fibers were prepared by wet spinning technology with aqueous NaSCN as solvent for the investigation on the changes of the tensile properties under temperature control. The influences of draw temperature, draw load and draw ratio on the structure and tensile properties of pre-drawn acrylic fiber were discussed in detail. It is shown that the ductility increased rapidly when the temperature was higher than 100 ℃. With increasing draw load, the rupture tenacity of pre-drawn fibers decreased, whereas breaking elongation increased. The oriental structure of drawn fibers was analyzed by Synchrotron Radiation Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS). It illustrated that the degree of orientation increased with increasing draw temperature.
