Dispersion of carbon black and electrical conductive properties of CB/PBT composites
To improve the dispersion of conducting particles in matrix polymer and thus enhance the conductivity and processability of the composites, coupling agents are usually used to treat the fillers. In this report, effect of carbon black (CB) treatment with two types of coupling agents on dispersion of CB and electrical conductive properties of CB/PBT composites was studied. It can be clearly found that CB/PBT composites with the treatment of 3% titanate coupling agent could achieve excellent electrical conductive properties. Furthermore, the morphology of CB particles uniformly dispersion in the PBT matrix polymer can be observed by SEM.
