Study on the preparation of UHMWPE fiber tape by using Weibull statistics

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers have many excellent performances and more and more people focus on the research of UHMWPE fiber reinforced composites. In this paper, UHMWPE fibers and EVA resin are processed into composite tape under an optimal process condition. It is appropriate to analyze the tensile strength of the composite tapes by using Weibull statistics. The results show that the optimal mechanical property of the composite tape has been achieved when the heating temperature is 120 ℃, the treating speed is 8mm/s and the processing pressure is 16.3MPa.
