Effects of micro morphology on properties of easy cationic dyeable co-polyester fiber
Easy cationic dyeable co-polyester (ECDP) fibers were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis and FT-IR spectra analysis. The effects of micro-morphology on the properties of ECDP and PET fiber were discussed by tensile property, moisture regain and electrical conductivity tests. Experimental results showed that the addition of sulfonic acid group decreased the crystallinity degree of ECDP fiber. Compared to PET fiber, the tensile strength and initial modulus of ECDP fiber decreased by 14% and 18% respectively, while the elongation increased by 17%. The moisture regain of ECDP fiber was higher and specific resistance was lower than those of PET fiber respectively.
