Objective evaluation of the interface dynamic pressure performance of novel elastic fabric
DOW XLA fiber is a unique, elastic fiber that is olefin-based and designed for durable, comfortable stretch performance with excellent heat and chemical resistance. XLA fiber inside a core spun yarn to elasticize fabrics for functional-wear provided additional thermal and sensorial comfort and an improved hand feel over traditional non-elasticized and PBT-elasticized fabrics. Several elastic fabrics with different contents of XLA fiber are collected to make a comparative analysis. A pressure measurement device has been developed to test the dynamic pressure behavior correctly of these fabrics under the processing of 3D deformation. In this paper, the dynamic pressure performance of the novel elastic fabric was evaluated, which is more important than static one for functional compression garment. Further, the influence of the different novel fiber components on the interface dynamic pressure was discussed.
