Simulation on the tensile property of 3D woven composites
In order to analyze the tensile performance of the 3D woven composites, a microstructure of the 3D orthogonal architecture was established in this paper. On the basis of this microstructure model, a Finite Element Modeling (FEM) was built to simulate the tensile process of the composites. Through this FEM model, the tensile displacement-load curve, deformation and failure mode of the composites during tensile process can be distinguished. To identify this FEM model, the tensile property of the composite samples was tested. From the comparison between numerical results and experimental results, it was proved that the model in this paper was valid and reasonable. The simplified method in this paper can be extended to models for other kinds of 3D textile composites.
