The research and application of new-style ceramic spinneret for preparation PAN precursor
PAN precursor fiber spun using a novel ceramic spinneret was studied in this paper. The processability and structures of PAN precursor fiber spun from metal and ceramic spinneret were compared. The results showed that there is no significant difference on fiber structure from ceramic and metal spinnerets. It was noticed that PAN/DMSO solution has less surface tensile on ceramic than that on metal, which resulted in reducing die swell (Barrus effect). This research supported to design ceramic spinneret with larger Length/Diameter (L/D) ratio.
