Time dependent recovery behaviours of polyester multifilament yarns
In this contribution, the tensile recoveries of PTT and PET multifilament yarns are measured systematically by the variations of time of setting for extension and for recovery continuously. Detailed information on tensile recovery is given for time up to 10 min for both PTT and PET in 3D graphical relationship. It is found that the recoveries of both PTT and PET yarns are sensitive to the times allowed for extension and for recovery, and that PTT is slower to relax and faster to recovery than PET multifilament yarn. The deformation of PTT happens in extension can be entirely compensated in the recovery procedure.
