Morphology and properties of PVDF/PS blend membranes
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)/polysulfone (PS) blend membranes were prepared by phase inversion process in this work. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was used as pore-forming additive and dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) was used as solvent. Effects of PS concentration on the morphology and properties of PVDF/PS blend membrane were investigated. Membrane performance was evaluated by pure water flux, eliminating ratio to creatinine and urea, and retention to bovine serum albumin (BSA). Blend membrane with a high pure water flux, a high eliminating ratio to creatinine and urea, and a low retention to BSA was obtained when PS concentration is 8 wt% and PVDF concentration is 10 wt%.
