Preparation and properties of organic-inorganic hybrid low dielectric materials

A novel organic-inorganic network hybrid was prepared and characterized by the FTIR, 13C NMR technologies, and atomic force microscopy (AFM) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) respectively. Its properties were evaluated by TGA and capacitance measurement of hybrid film with an Agilent E4980A LCR meter at a frequency of 1 MHz. The results reveal that nanoscale polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) molecules have been uniformly dispersed into the polymeric system to form three-dimensional network hybrid. This hybrid possesses well film-formability and high thermal stability, and the hybrid film displays low dielectric properties with a dielectric constants of 2.64.
