Experimental study on the influence of multiple mechanical properties on clothing pressure of DOW XLA TM elastic fabric

DOW XLA TM fiber is a new polyolefin elasticity fiber, which has been widely applied to elastic fabric. DOW XLA TM elastic fabric provides an additional pressure comfort for functional wear. This study aimed to establish the effect on clothing pressure of DOW XLA TM elastic fabrics. In this paper, several elastic fabrics with different proportion of DOW XLA TM fiber were collected to make a comparative analysis. Clothing pressure and the multiple mechanical properties of fabrics were measured by using a pressure testing system and Kawabata Evaluation System (KES) respectively. SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) was used to identify the factors which influenced the clothing pressure significantly. The results certify that the physical and mechanical properties of fabrics influenced the clothing pressure. Especially, the tensile properties significantly affect on the clothing pressure.
