Effect of poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) films treated by atmospheric pressure plasma jet and low-pressure plasma
Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) films have been treated by atmospheric pressure plasma jet and low-pressure plasma to investigate the changes of solubility and weight loss due to surface ablation. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was employed to study the surface morphology and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to analyze the change of chemical composition of the substrate bulk after plasma treatment. Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) films treated by low-pressure plasma showed a high solubility and etching rate with extending exposure time to plasma. After treated with the atmospheric pressure plasma jet, the films’ thickness loss of solubility and etching show better results.
