Porous structure and mechanical properties of PU/PEG complex phase change membrane

Porous phase change membranes were prepared with blended system of PEG, PU, DMF and (NH4)2CO3 powder. Pore size and distribution and mechanical properties of the membrane were measured. The results showed, in a certain range, pore size increased as the PEG content increased, and decreased as PU and ammonium carbonate content increased; the distribution of pore diameter were all up to or close to normal distribution. As PEG content increased, the breaking strength, breaking elongation and breaking work decreased, while initial modulus increased; as PU and ammonium carbonate content increased, the breaking strength and breaking work both decreased, while initial modulus had no obvious change.
