Approach to the effect of refining natural bamboo fibre on degumming enzyme and alkali

To investigate an effective method for refining the natural bamboo fibre, the rough natural bamboo fibres were refined by using alkali and degumming enzyme. The parameters of stirring, concentration and time are selected by means of orthogonal test method to obtain optimal changing rate of fineness, strength and the content of lignin. The results show that the effect of degumming enzyme is better than that of alkali. The content of lignin was decreased from 18.98% to 7.27%, and the strength has a slight loss. It can be concluded that the bio-enzyme unglued process will be a better actual treating method for natural bamboo fibre.
