Study on the fuzzing and pilling performance of milk protein knitted fabrics
Milk protein fiber is a kind of new regenerated protein fiber. It has both advantages of synthetic fiber and natural fiber. For example, it is high-strength but soft, low-shrink and skin-friendly, good in moisture absorption and air permeability. However, milk protein fiber fabric has serious fuzzing and pilling problems after washing and wearing which restrict its wearability and further development in the market. So it is significant to study milk protein fabrics anti-fuzzing and pilling performance. Both cotton and polyester/cotton knitted fabric were selected as the contrast specimens of milk protein knitted fabric. Martindale Tester was used to test the fuzzing and pilling properties of three kinds of knitted fabrics. The test results were assessed by the traditional subjective evaluation and objective evaluation method. The results show that pills of milk protein fiber knitted fabric appeared not fast, but the procedure of pilling lasted long time and the pills dropped slowly.
