Synthesis and Characterization of PLA-PEG-PLA Triblock Copolymer
Preparation of PLA-PEG-PLA triblock copolymer was carried out using indirect method in this paper. Lactide was prepared from industrial monomer L-lactic acid as raw materia1. The designed molecular weight PLA-PEG-PLA triblock copolymers were synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of lactide and PEG based on the molar rate of lactide and PEG. Various analytical techniques such as GPC, 1H NMR, DSC were used to characterize the structure of the copolymer. According to that it is inferred that triblock copolymers is synthesized, and Tg is reduced and toughness is improved with the increase of PEG content.
