Hydrophobic surface improved by UPM/PHBV electrospinning
PHBV (Poly (hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate))/UPM (unsaturated polymer macromonomer) blend system was electrospun to form hydrophobic surfaces. The concentration of polymer solutions was varied to control the beads morphology and resultant wetting property. With the increasing of UPM, the film become more flexible and easy to cure and the elongation at break increased from 21% to 105%. When the beads were accumulated to certain concentration, water droplet had contact angles ranging from 105.8° to 144.7° on these surfaces, with a maximum standard deviation of 1.4°. It was showed that UPM/PHBV beads mats not only have the hydrophobic property but also relatively good mechanical property.
