Structure and properties of Antheraea Pernyi silk fibroin/hydroxyapatite composite films
Antheraea Pernyi (A.Pernyi) silk fibroin/hydroxyapatite (ASF/HA) composite films, with the addition of glycerin, were fabricated by co-precipitation. The theoretical HA content in composite films varied from 2% to 20%. Physical properties of composite films including hydroscopic property, moisture permeability and mechanical performance were tested. The results revealed that the physical properties changed obviously when the HA content is up to 12%. When the content of HA was lower than 12%, the water ratio decreased gradually with the addition of HA. At the same time, the moisture permeability increased gradually. The structures of composite films were investigated by X-Ray diffraction and SEM. It showed predominant α-helix and amorphous structure in the composite films. The crystallinity of the composite films declined with the addition of HA and appeared a great decline when the HA content was 12%.
