Non-isothermal Crystallization Kinetics of Poly (phenylene sulfide)/Nano-CeO2 Composites
Poly (phenylene sulfide) (PPS)/nano-cerium dioxide (CeO2) composites were prepared by DAKA miniature blending instrument. The non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of samples were detected by DSC at cooling rates of 2.5℃/min, 5℃/min, 10℃/min, 15℃/min, 20℃/min, 25℃/min, respectively. Results showed that the peaks of crystallization temperature (Tp) move to low-temperature, crystallization half-time (t1/2) decrease with the cooling rate increasing. The Tp of composite is higher than which of neat PPS in the same cooling rate, nano-CeO2 particles play a role of nucleating agent. Non-isothermal crystallization processes of PPS and nanocomposite are properly described by Mos equation. The cooling rate needed to get the given relative crystallinity is lower for nanocomposite, compared to PPS. The crystallization style of PPS is changed by nano-CeO2 particles.
