The preparation and properties of poly(L-lactic acid) nonwoven fabric fabricated by electrospinning
The poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA) nonwoven fabrics were fabricated by electrospinning. The microstructures of PLLA nonwoven fabrics manufactured in different concentrated solution were analyzed by scanning electron microscope. Mechanical properties and permeability of PLLA nonwoven fabrics with different thickness were tested. The results show that the fibers are multi-pore fibers and the pore size is strongly influenced by PLLA concentration in methylene dichloride. The tearing process of the PLLA nonwoven fabric went through three phases, including elastic deformation phase, fiber slipping and rearranging phase and fiber broken phase. The maximum broken force, initial modulus and elongation of the nonwoven fabric increased with increasing the thickness of the PLLA nonwoven fabric, while the gas permeability declined.
