Prolonged and sustained drug delivery behavior of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)/clay/linear polyacrylamide hydrogels
In this contribution, a novel smart drug delivery system (DDS) based on poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm), clay and linear polyacrylamide (PAAmhydrogel was developed for prolonged and sustained controlled drug release. Various amounts linear PAAm were incorporated into poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)/clay (PNIPAAm) hydrogels to form the novel DDSs. Bovine serum albumin (BSA) was used as model drug for in vitro experiment, the release data suggested that the controlled drug release could be achieved by modulating linear PAAm content.
