Preparation of RuxSey nanoparticles by a micro-emulsion method
Ru-based chalcogenide materials show high oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activities. However, the activities depend on the chemical composition and the size of the nanoparticles. In this paper, RuxSey nanoparticles were prepared using a reverse micro-emulsion method. The effects of ω0 (molar ratio of water and surfactant) and n0 (concentration of surfactant) on the morphology and size were investigated. The morphology, structure and the electrochemical properties of the particles were studied by TEM and CV techniques. The results showed that the size of RuxSey was increased with the increase of ω0, and the prepared RuxSey nanoparticles showed good ORR activities.
