Electrospun bioactive composite scaffolds of hydroxyapatite /poly( ε-caprolactone) for bone tissue engineering
Hydroxyapatite (HA)/poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) fibrous scaffolds were successfully prepared by electrospinning dopes containing HA and PCL in mixed solvents of methylene chloride and N, N-dimethyl formamide (MC/DMF). The scaffolds were characterized by SEM, TEM, tensile strength tests and in-vitro bioactivity tests. It was found that surface modification of HA with γ-glycioxypropyl-trimethoxysilane (A-187) could improve mechanical performance and bioactivity of PCL fibrous scaffolds greatly.
