A Simple Model for Explanation of Na D-Line Shape in Sonoluminescence Spectra

A new model of the shape of Na D-line in sonoluminescence spectra is proposed. The model is based on a hypothesis that complex structure of the line (the shift, broadening, asymmetry, presence of parent peaks) is formed by the contributions of spectra radiated at various densities of the perturbing surrounding. The definition of density profile during the emission and the estimation of peak density were obtained comparing experimental and calculated spectra. The sonoluminescence spectra of K and Li were also studied using the model. The model is applicable to any atoms in high density varying environment.
