Benefits Rational Design of Injection Wells using Cross-dipole Acoustic Logging Data
1In order to increase oil production, water injection method is commonly used in many oil regions. If not control the well site properly according to the direction of formation in situ stresses, however, will result in water flooding soon. The paper presents an approach of evaluating the direction of maximum in situ stress and reservoir sand body trend by using cross-dipole acoustic logging data(XMAC), together with electronic imaging results, benefits rational design of injection wells, avoiding water flooding too early. The approach is conducted on the Daqing Oilfield, showing improved production efficiency and increased economic profit.
