Array Gain Compensation of Large-aperture Horizontal Line Array in Oceanic Waveguide
In oceanic waveguide, multipath interference and dispersive phenomenon generally influence the spatial correlation of the signals among the hydrophones of acoustic array, especially the large-aperture horizontal line array. Therefore, the real array-gain will decrease and the detection performance will be degraded. This paper investigates the relationship between array gain and multipath structure in shallow water based on normal mode theory and aims to reduce the array-gain loss due to the broadband signals multipath interference difference. The novel approach of phase compensation is presented for continuous broadband radiated noise-style signals with correlation spectrum. Some simulations show that the array gain of large-aperture horizontal line array can be improved close to theoretical array gain.
