Protocol design and technology setup for the evaluation of gliding and propelling capacity of swimmers
Introduction Swimming is a complete activity that involves a selfpropelling body progressing through an unsteady liquid environment. Therefore swimmers have to be capable of avoiding drag caused by their body in motion moving into the water and, at the same time, propel themselves applying their power onto this same water where they are immersed. The purpose of this study was to design the protocols and technology for the evaluation of the gliding capacity, underwater dolphin kick ability and swimming technique in each style.
