Olympism: A Western liberal idea that ought not to be imposed on other cultures?
Introduction It is debatable whether the western dominant cultures are still influential on non western cultures in various areas and sport is one of them. The purpose of this study is to examine how the western liberal idea of Olympism could impact positively on nonwestern cultures. The research examines the background of non western cultures and the problems they face and how the values of Olympism could be implemented successfully to promote harmony among them.
