Physical education pedagogy in Australian primary schools and the promotion of physically active lives: A cause for concern?
Introduction The quality of PE pedagogy in primary schools directly affects learning outcomes and the opportunity for children to be physically active (Chen & Light, 2006). The primary school years are an important time for the development of knowledge, understanding, skills and values on physical activity. Failing to provide effective PE programmes in primary schools create barriers to ongoing physical activity in adolescence and adulthood.
