Venezuelan Calypso: A Popular dance expression
Introduction In the middle of the XIX century, in the Antillean islands, the liberation of slavery took place and in Venezuela, the concession of the English and French mining of gold occurred. Consequently, due to the attractiveness that exerted the possibility of obtaining a fast wealth, El Callao became the scene for a mixture of different cultures. Among the inhabitants of local origin, were groups of English, North Americans, French and a remarkable number of native settlers of the British and French Antilles.
