Effects of the external elastic loading on hamstring muscles EMG activity during running
Introduction Strong hamstring muscles are an important factor to determine the speed of sprint running (Liu, 1993; Hunter, Marshall & McNair, 2004; Li, 2005). However, this muscle architecture is long and relatively weak. We employed elastic loading on this muscle in an attempt to design a specific training method to strengthen hamstring muscles and improve the efficiency of the hamstring. The purpose of this study was to improve athletic performance and reduce the chance of injury.
