Self understanding of sport economics based on sport sciences and economics
Introduction Sport economics is a science which has become more important in the world and especially in Germany within the last few years. To gain knowledge on economic problems in sport or sport related fields a considerable amount of research has been conducted. However there is a lack of basic research in sport economics in Germany. Sport economics is a science field characterized by a fragmentary outline even though the economic relevance is still increasing (Büch & Frick, 1999; Hermanns & Riedmiiller, 2002; Hickel, 2002).
