Resting metabolic rate, aerobic power, sleep, and ph ysical activity levels of elderly men
Introduction During the ageing process, neuroquimical, morphological and functional changes occur. For example, the impairment of sleep parameters, resting metabolic rate, aerobic power, and physical activity level are impacted by ageing. Although these factors are related, there are not enough studies analyzing these associations, especially among elderly populations. Thus, the purpose of this study was to verify the association between the resting and basal metabolic rate, sleep pattern, and maximum oxygen uptake with the physical activity level of elderly sedentary men.
