Load Management Using Smart Supervisory in a Distributed Smart Grid
the effective approach to monitor and control a smart grid is managing and robustly operating power system with hierarchical and distributed layers. With the aid of Global positioning system (GPS),Intelligent Electronic devices (IEDs) and Advanced Grid Infrastructure (AGI) widely spread in power system data are captured, and give an instantaneous snapshot of the real-time monitoring of power system.Smart grids provide an excellent opportunity to better manage power quality and reduce harmonic distortions present in power networks. The use of an Embedded Labview application to control a distributed smart grid and load management in a simulated environment based on FFT,THD,conventional demand-side management based on shaping load profile and reducing peak demand is addressed in this paper. To illustrate load management scenario,a test distribution system is modified to include residential feeder with high penetration of Plug-in Electrical Vehicles (PEVs),and industrial area with nonlinear load.
