Develop a Power Quality Measurement System Integrated with HAN Home Energy Management System
A development of a power quality measurement system established by using the combination of LabVIEW and HAN(Home Area Network) home energy management system is presented in this paper.The power quality measuring system can be combined with IEN(Intelligent Energy Network) energy system and HEC(Home Energy Controller) system,according to IEEE 1159.31 power management system specifications,and used smart-meter which is in line with SEP(Smart Energy Profile) to read home power consumption of home equipment.The nonlinear loads of home electric equipment such as computer power supply,inverter air conditioners,and inverter washing machines will generate harmonic waves.A large number of harmonics,inter-harmonic waves may cause transformer overheating,flashing lights,equipment heating,and communications interference.Filters and uninterruptible power systems (UPS) installations can reduce harmonics and inter-harmonic waves.This article will present a design of a power quality measurement system combined with IEN system and HEC system integration by using CompactRIO devices to retrieve real (Real-Time) electricity signals.After electricity signals capturing,the use of real-time fast Fourier analysis will be done to calculate the power quality related parameters (RMS,Frequency,THD,1 ~ 20th Harmonics. . ) in accordance with IEC 61000-4-72 and IEC 61000-4-303 harmonic specification.The result provides information for managers to understand the current status of electricity.
