A New Predictive Control Systems with Network Delays in the Feedback and Forward Channels
There are two random network transmission delays in networked control systems (NCS): forward and feedback channel delays, which degrade the control performance significantly and even make the system unstable. This paper presents a new control scheme, which is termed networked predictive control (NPC). This scheme mainly consists of the control prediction generator (CPG) and network delay compensator (NDC). The CPG provides a set of future control predictions to make the closed-loop system achieve the desired control performance and the NDC removes the effects of the network transmission delay. Different from the existing results, the function of NDC is not only the selection but also the modification. Simulation study on the inverted pendulum shows the effectiveness of the control scheme.
