Robust Control System for Remote Control of Nuclear Reactor Power
One of main concepts introduced in the regional small reactor is an unmanned remote control. The virtual private networks based on Internet provide environments for the remote monitoring and control of geometrically dispersed systems, and with an advance of communication technologies, the potential of networks for real time control and automation becomes enormous. However, the networked control has some problems, and the most critical one is the delay of signal transmission. The delay of signal transmission degrades the system stability and performance. Therefore, the networked control system should be designed with preparations against the delay. This paper proposes design methods of the delay tolerant system that can guarantee the predetermined stability and performance. For this, the reactor plant is modeled with consideration of uncertainties, and with this model, three kinds of controllers are developed by different methods respectively. The designed controllers are compared each other with respect to stability and performance, and the second order controller designed by table lookup method gives satisfactory results.
