CURRENT AND FUTURE CHALLENGES IN STUDIES OF HYGROTHERMAL PERFORMANCE OF BUILDINGS

Models for integrated analysis of combined heat, air and moisture transfer processes for whole buildings are nowadays available. Since buildings must soon be even more energy efficient than seen hitherto, and the quality of the indoor environment should be salvaged, such models should be employed to achieve the analyses which are necessary to optimize the design and operational procedures of buildings. Since most relevant parameters have a stochastic nature, it will be desirable to employ models which can manage the probabilistic phenomena. International cooperation between experts from different relevant fields should be facilitated.
