A Collaborative Knowledge Management System for Product Design Based on Folksonomy
The aim of this research is to suggest folksonomybased collaborative knowledge management system for designers in product development who collect, organize, analysis, presentation large quantity information. We performed field observation and studies to examination how designers in a group deal with information during the design process. We found that the traditional information organize methods have some problems like lack of collaboration and time consuming. Base on this research, we developed concept group work knowledge management application called FKPPD. By implementing FKP-PD, we have showed the system reduces problems found from current process such as duplication of efforts and promiscuous information definition. In future study, we plan to evaluate the system further as well as adjust information input and output function which can be usefully applied to group design work.
