Vacuum Paddle Fast Pyrolysis Reactor Design and Internal Heat Transfer Investigation
Fast pyrolysis is a cracking reaction in which macromolecule of biomass is broken into small molecular in moderate temperature and high heating speed. The process is regarded as one of the most perspective means of exploitation low valued biomass by thermal method. The pyrolysis reactor is the most important equipment in the process. By investigate different kinds of reactor, a new type named vacuum paddle fast pryoysis reactor is developed which have low manufacture cost and operating fee besides more stable performance and a laboratory reactor which have capability of 2kg/hr is designed, manufactured and debugged. Two stage cooling system composed of 1st quench stage and 2nd cooling heat exchanger is designed, which is proven effective in avoiding secondary cracking of biomass oil and eliminating block of equipment by tar. At same time, a model describing heat transfer in new reactor is established and solved by unsteady heat conduction equation, which give conclusion on minimum agitating speed and therefore, provide basic theoretical foundation.
